Very nice chart complied by Dell on the different processors and Vmotion Compatibility.

I originally learned about this from vmetc.com.

Download the chart!

Just saw this original article searchvirtualization.com.

And VMware's official announcement.

How does VMware license its products for dual- quad- and hexa-core systems?

VMware licenses its server products on a per processor basis. As of the Effective Date referenced above, processor is defined as a single physical chip that contains no more than six processor cores.

vSphere (ESX 4) Launch set for April 21:

Searchvirtualization is reporting the launch of the next game changing revolution in Virtualization by VMware is scheduled for April 21.

I am very excited about the features in this next release and have been involved with the beta of the product, but not commented due to NDA rules.

The article seems to indicate many are not aware of the new features. If you are in that boat I can't stress the importance of attending VMworld and your local VMware User Groups to keep up on all the news.

This new release is guaranteed to rock the virtualization industry!
